Overview

Enjoy a live piano vibe with Svetlana Rudenko surrounded by nature’s beauty at National Botanic Gardens!

An evening of classical piano music and narration. Classical Music meets Art and Augmented Reality.

After an appearance at the spectacular Flower Piano festival in the San Francisco Botanical Garden, Golden Gate Park, for their 10th anniversary, Svetlana Rudenko and LoGaCulture bring a concert of “flower” compositions to the National Botanic Gardens. Pieces include Amy Beach’s “Mignonette” and “Honeysuckle,” as well as Rachmaninnoff's "Lilacs," Liszt's "Forest Murmurs," and Svetlana Rudenko's own compositions from Augmented Reality art apps, as well as her recently launched piano album "Alice Dali 2 AR: Through the Looking-Glass," based on the book by Lewis Carroll, with narration by Prof. Mads Haahr, Trinity College Dublin.

“Successfully drawing together such apparently disparate works in one programme is no easy task, but Svetlana Rudenko’s performance made the collection seem natural. Engaging, exciting and sensitive towards the music being performed, Rudenko puts a bit of sunshine back into a wet Friday afternoon.” (Beethoven’s Sonata Pathetique, Alexander Scriabin’s Op. 74, preludes, Liszt’s Mephisto Walzer) John Millar.

Based on music composed for flowers, the TCD LoGaCulture team developed a spatial audio locative app for exploring and finding flowers in the botanic garden. After the concert, participants will be invited to try the Piano Flowers app and Alice Dali 2 AR by Haunted Planet Studios.
