“Asger Jorn MR: The Disquieting Duckling” is a part of the series of Mixed Reality experiences “Exploring Dreaming with Mixed Reality” that explores philosophical concepts related to dreams and dreaming in music, literature and science.

Many artists have expressed the horror of war in their art. Through artists, we hear the voices of those who are suffering in war – regular people.

Geri Hahn Art: Living Out Loud MR (2025) features the art of an artist-synesthete from New Jersey, who uses her cross-sensory synesthesia as a creative inspiration.

In the first scene, you will hear the second movement of Prokofiev’s Sonata N4, Op.29 (1917), “After Old Notebooks,” and explore our 3D representation of Salvador Dali’s surrealist painting “The Persistence of Memory.”

“Dreaming: Amy Beach MR” is the first in a series of Mixed Reality experiences that explore philosophical concepts related to dreams and dreaming in music, literature and science.

"Giorgio de Chirico: Metaphysical Art MR" reimagines de Chirico's "Turin Spring" (1914, Italy) in mixed reality, complemented by Svetlana Rudenko's music.

"Alice Dali MR" is the second installment in our "Exploring Dreaming with Mixed Reality" series. ‘DreaMR’ the name of this series, intertwines music, literature, and science through philosophical themes on dreaming.

“DreaMR: Rachmaninoff Mixed Reality Scenes for Preludes, Op. 32” engages with the human experience of dreaming through art, music, and consciousness science.

The 'De Chirico Metaphysical Art AR' app merges Giorgio de Chirico's surreal art with Dr. Svetlana Rudenko's music, creating an AR experience that lets users step into and feel the essence of De Chirico's metaphysical paintings. This immersive journey blurs the lines between reality and art.

The Alice Dali AR experience revitalizes Salvador Dali's 1969 illustrations for "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland". This has been made possible by Svetlana Rudenko, Mads Haahr, and Haunted Planet Studios, who began developing this AR experience. The Alice Dali AR app brings the dreamy essence of this classic fairy tale to life, showcasing Dali's unique and creative vision.

Discovering Art-Music Soundscapes via Geolocation

Leveraging geolocation, this AR app unveils art-music soundscapes tied to Dali's artworks. Players use an on-screen radar to discover AR images and enjoy related music and narration. You also have the option to capture and save these augmented reality moments as digital keepsakes through ‘casebooks’.

Family-Friendly Exploration of Dali's Fairy Tale World

Many will enjoy this experience, however, we want to emphasise how families can make memorable moments with their children. ‘Psychogeography with Jack B. Yeats, Dublin’ offers an art and music experience, in which the music - by Dr. Svetlana Rudenko has been inspired by Jack B. Yeats' art. In addition, further arrangements have been developed by Kenneth Rice, as well as narration by Prof. Mads Haahr. This Open Air Gallery AR experience immerses you in locations within Dublin that influenced Yeats' paintings, featuring songs like ‘Molly Malone’ and ‘Port na bPúcaí’.

Soundscapes and Narration: A Deep Dive into Yeats' Dublin

This augmented reality app includes six soundscapes linked to Yeats' works at the National Gallery of Ireland, such as "The Liffey Swim" (1923) and "Grief" (1951), with narrations featuring John B. Yeats and an Eamonn Andrews interview.

This app, Synaesthesia Gallery AR, introduces a new AR educational experience that focuses on synaesthesia - a sensory trait affecting 4–6% of the population. We have developed this AR app to help those without synaesthesia, demystify what cross-modal perceptions are like.

Showcasing Synaesthesia Research and Artistic Interpretations

The app uses augmented reality to create a digital gallery - especially in outdoor settings - as an effort to showcase the work of leading synaesthesia researchers and artists like Carol Steen and Professor Jamie Ward. Synaesthesia Gallery AR presents classical music interpreted by synaesthete artists and art-inspired compositions, which has been praised as a "window into perception" by V.S. Ramachandran and Edward M. Hubbard.

"Through the Looking-Glass" by Lewis Carroll has been revived in our new Alice Dali 2 AR app, using AI-generated images that mirror Salvador Dali's style. As a result of popular demand, we decided to offer you this digital sequel where Dali never illustrated the second book.

Exploring the Haunted Tales of Japan

From goblin-infested caves and haunted tombs to vengeful spirits and strange, sinister happenings, ancient Japan was a country and culture that existed between realms: the world of the everyday and the world of the supernatural. The Musical and Artistic Fusion in Ukiyo-e

In her compositions on Ukiyo-e art, Svetlana used the pentatonic/heptatonic mode of Japan’s music language in combination with European contemporary harmony. She reflected on the different sides of the characters, sometimes juxtaposing fear with humour (as in Skeleton Specter), sometimes sorrowful (“A Woman ghost appeared from a well” by K. Hokusai), or meditative/heroic (Benkei), a love story (Toad’s and Slug’s magic), and sometimes in the genre of lament as in the last composition (“Tametomo Rescued by Tengu”). Museet Mosede Fort Danmark 1914-18, a World War I museum located in Greve, Denmark, offers a unique perspective on the war. Unlike traditional war museums, it explores the impact of national policy decisions on food scarcity during WWI and their role in shaping the Danish welfare society.

Innovative Augmented-Reality Experience: Kampen om maden 1914-1918

Supported by the Velux Foundation and in collaboration with Haunted Planet Studios, the museum has developed "Kampen om maden 1914-1918," a site-specific augmented-reality game. This sophisticated experience aims to engage the public in reflecting on WWI's long-lasting relevance, particularly in terms of food and nutrition policies.

Engaging Gameplay and Educational Objectives

The game is designed around nine "double encounters," each highlighting challenges related to food shortage and malnutrition in neutral Denmark during WWI, alongside "companion encounters" that illustrate the evolution of solutions and societal organization post-war.

Historical Authenticity and Immersive Technology

Utilizing historical photos for visuals, the game presents these apparitions in black and white, matching the era's aesthetic. The Ghostviewer (AR camera mode) enhances this immersion by also being in black and white, encouraging players to reflect on the past's influence on the present. Each encounter is complemented by a surprising heading and a brief text, deepening the thematic exploration.

The Lion Queen: A Tragic Tale Reimagined

The Lion Queen is based on the true story of Ellen Bright, a 17-year-old lion tamer who met an untimely end in Chatham in 1849 when she was attacked by one of her tigers. This story imagines Ellen’s ghost searching for release and her crown amongst a purgatory full of circus performers.

An Augmented Reality Adventure through History

Using Haunted Planet’s augmented reality engine, Real Medway and Swale is a series of games, allowing players to navigate their way through stories created by local writers and artists. This project is funded by Ideas Test - Creative People and Places Swale and Medway and created with students from UCA Chatham.

At each site, you will see a historical image from a local Dublin library, archive, and/or museum, along with text and audio narrative about the significance of the site and the important contributions women made to the Easter Rising.

The GAP project uses Serious Games for training Conflict Prevention and Peace Building (CPPB) personnel, enabling them to role-play scenarios within and across different organizations for enhanced skills and collaboration.

This is a serious game designed with Child Helpline International and Terre des Hommes Netherlands to train child helpline counsellors in recognizing and responding to potential cases of human trafficking and child sexual abuse.
